The New Red Pack of Channels on SPB TV — Delivering the Best Content to Mobile Users

April 16th, 2012 – SPB TV (SPB TV trademark), the leading provider of technology solutions for mobile TV, announced today the launch of Red Pack, the new stirring package of TV channels. The package includes the most popular and fascinating channels from the largest Russian broadcasting company VGTRK, such as “My planet”, “Science 2.0”, “The Fight Club”, “Sports”, and others. The package is available by subscription to SPB TV app users in Russia on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Red Pack significantly enriched the collection of SPB TV content packages; now the application allows users to subscribe to even more of premium thematic TV channels and access them right from their mobile devices. At the same time new SPB TV client UI with improved browsing features and enhanced functionality makes TV watching experience the most convenient and captivating.

The New Red Pack of Channels on SPB TV

SPB TV is the best-in class mobile application that enables its users to watch over 150 TV channels in more than 20 languages, both Live on VoD, via Wi-Fi, 3G, Edge, or any other network. The vast majority of the channels are free of charge; some of them, including “My Planet”, “Science 2.0”, “Travel Channel”, “MGM”, “English Club TV”, etc., are included into premium packages or available “a la carte”. Each user can choose a channel pack of his interest and combine different subscriptions, depending on his preferences and needs. Red Pack is available to SPB TV users in Russia and on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, the set of channels in the package depends on the user’s mobile operator.

The available TV content in SPB TV 3.x is presented in the convenient Channel Store, where all the vast channels list is divided into categories, like “Movies & Serials“, “Discovery” or “Sports”. The interface of Channel Store is very similar to the one of App Store, so it will be very easy to use even for an inexperienced user. The Smart Search function allows subscribers to find any TV show, movie or channel by keyword.

Just like the previous versions, SPB TV 3.x supports fast channel preview and picture-in-picture mode that help to check other channels, not interrupting the show. The app also features EPG and “now on air“ function, that displays all currently running TV shows on one screen. SPB TV 3.x is available free of charge form the App Store.
